The foundation of our work at Actor’s Craft is the award-winning
Chubbuck Technique which will take anything you have ever learned
about acting to the next level!
Developed by world renown Acting Coach, Ivana Chubbuck, these 12
acting tools create a solid foundation that will keep actors present and
inspire a raw, profound, dynamic and powerful performance. The
Chubbuck Technique builds upon those techniques used in the past and
teaches actors how to use their emotions not as an end result, but as a
way to empower a goal. It teaches actors how to win.
Every year, those who use it are well represented at the Academy Awards, Emmys, Golden
Globes, Tonys, and many other international awards. For the 2006 Academy Awards,
Ivana’s students were nominated in every acting category: Best Actor, Best Actress,
Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
Maureen Cashin Bolog of Actor’s
Craft is the only acting coach officially certified to teach The Chubbuck Technique in the
Great Lakes area.
Work outside of class includes reading the book, doing script analysis as you learn it
from class, and working with scene partners.

Dramatic Improvisation: Where Play Meets Truth
Learn to live truthfully, moment to moment.
Directors love actors who can improvise — not just for comedy, but for grounded, emotionally rich storytelling.
Dramatic Improvisation is a unique class designed to help you sharpen your instincts, deepen your emotional connection, and stay present under pressure.
This class merges the structured realism of Uta Hagen, the emotional honesty of Sanford Meisner, and the radical spontaneity of Viola Spolin — three legends whose methods will challenge and expand your craft.
Through exercises in substitution, repetition, sensory work, and improv games, you'll learn to:
* React honestly instead of "performing"
* Access authentic emotion on demand
* Trust your instincts and listen deeply
* Use your imagination to create grounded, believable characters
* Let go, take risks, and stay playful
Whether you're an actor looking to deepen your work, a writer craving character insight, or a creative seeking bold, honest expression — this class will give you tools to be more present, more connected, and more you in every moment.
“Think fast. Feel deep. Stay real.”
Come ready to play. Leave with a stronger voice.
